OCD Test – Yale Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Scale (YBOCS)
A quick OCD test to gauge the intensity of your symptoms
While taking this test is not the same as undertaking a full assessment by a qualified healthcare professional, this quick OCD test can give you an estimate of how severe your OCD symptoms are. I use this test regularly with my clients to measure their progress throughout the treatment.
Instructions:
- Read each question below carefully. The first 5 questions relate to obsessive thoughts (thoughts are frequent, unwelcome, and intrusive), the last 5 questions relate to compulsive behaviours (repetitive behaviors or mental acts that you have a strong urge to repeat that are aimed at reducing your anxiety or preventing some dreaded event).
- Select an answer based on the average occurrence of each item over the last week.
- When you have completed all the questions click the “Calculate My Score” button below.
Your Score:
If you have both obsessions and compulsions, and your total score is;
8-15 = Mild OCD; 16-23 = Moderate OCD; 24-31= Severe OCD; 32-40 = Extreme OCD
No single test is completely accurate. You should always consult your physician when making decisions about your health.
